John M. Fineran
King, WI (Formerly of Janesville, WI) Age 85 – died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI. He was born on May 28, 1922 in the Township of Magnolia, Rock County, WI, a son of the late Thomas and Alice (Birmingham) Fineran. John is survived by a sister; Mary Kay Clark of Janesville, and a brother; George Fineran of Racine. He was preceded in death by his parents. John had been employed with Robinson’s Cleaners in Janesville for a number of years. He had also worked at a cotton mill in Janesville. John had served in the US Army during WW II. John became a resident of the Wisconsin Veterans Home in 1987. He was very proud to be a veteran and this was reflected in the years he served with the Wisconsin Veterans Home Military Funeral Detail. He eventually became the Commander of the Military Funeral Detail. John was also a life-member and past Commander of the D.A.V. Chapter 54, a life-member of V.F.W. Post 1464, and a member of the AmVets Chapter 1887. A funeral service with military honors will be held at the Wisconsin Veterans Home – Main Chapel at King, WI on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Sister Cathy Wottreng, officiating. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. Friends may call at the Main Chapel one hour prior to the time of the service on Wednesday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
