John E. Fritts' Obituary
John E. Fritts, age 85, of Waupaca passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. John was born on December 16, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Donald and Bernice (Kranz) Fritts. He graduated from Rufus King High School in 1957. John married the late Diane Day on June 25, 1960. John worked at Nunn Bush and Astronautics Corp of America where he retired after 35 years as the Lead of Maintenance. He was an artist, a painter, a chainsaw carver, enjoyed being on the lake water skiing and duck hunting. He was an archer and a gun hunter. John was a storyteller, just ask any of his hunting buddies where, when and how he got that deer. John knew the ways of nature. He equally knew the nature of people. He could read them like a book. Many sought his advice because he spoke the truth and was honest, in a diplomatic way. His special way with people is what gave him the ability to make instant and lifelong friends.
John is survived by his children Debra (Robert) Secky of Racine, WI, John (Lisa) Fritts of Weyauwega, WI, Cindy (Ed) Peters of Waupaca, WI and Amy (David) Bastain of Mosinee, WI; his grandchildren Kyle Peters, Cody Peters, Parry Olson, Gloria Olson and Matthew Fritts; his great grandchildren Kaylian Peters, Kayden Peters and Kane Peters; his cousin Beverly (Wussow) Kargus, many other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his wife Diane Fritts; his parents Don and Bernice Fritts and Aunt LaVerne Wussow.
