JOHN LELAND HARTSWORM
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN Age 68 passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at his home after a 15 year battle with cancer. Jack was born June 28, 1936 in Black Creek, WI; son of the late Henry and Pearl (Nelson) Hartsworm. Jack graduated from Waupaca High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seebee’s where he served from 1954 to 1964. After his discharge from the Navy, he was an over-the-road truck driver and an avid carpenter in Pennsylvania and New York. When Jack returned to Waupaca, he spent many hours in his workshop where he made many unique pieces for family and friends, which will always be treasured. He enjoyed his home in rural Waupaca where he spent many hours cleaning trees on his property. Jack enjoyed his time and holidays with his friends and neighbors. Jack is survived by:
Children: Jackie Lee, John Jr., Paul, and Suzanne
Brother-in-law: Claire Turner of Waupaca
Special Friends Whom He Considered Family: Roger and Lori Miller of Waupaca
Rich Brodnan of Waupaca
Daniel and Tina Grorich of Waupaca, and their children, Alaura and Mitchell
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marjorie Turner, and two brothers, Wallace and Robert Hartworm. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 7:30 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Reverend Sean Motley will officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:30 PM at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. Jack’s family wants to especially thank Jack’s friends for being with him until the end.
