John "Jack" Minter's Obituary
John D. "Jack" Minter - King, WI (formerly of Oxford, WI) - age 81 – died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born on December 15, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the son of William and Marie (Bright) Minter.
Jack is survived by his sisters: Alice Heppe of Lombard, IL, Audrey Shepherd of Carol Stream, IL, and a brother: Rod Minter of Oxford, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jack had proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of The Sons of The American Revolution. He had been employed as a mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service in Illinois and California. Jack came to the Wisconsin Veterans Home from Oxford, WI in September of 2007.
A funeral service will be held at the Wisconsin Veterans Home - Main Chapel in King, WI, on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke, officiating. A visitation will be held at the Main Chapel on Friday morning, one hour prior to the funeral service. Military Honors followed by interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
