Jack took me under his wing before he even knew me... He helped me get my first crop of hay in the barn when he saw me struggling with an old haybine that kept breaking down and he felt bad. He came over after he was done cutting his field and the next thing I knew, I have my first crop of hay put up! And that was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Jack was like that. He saw something that needed to be done and in a quiet understated way, he got the job done. Jack was always was always, generous, honest, friendly, kind, and welcoming to me and to my entire family.
Jack, be well, my friend, up in the heavens... the last trip around the field has been made... the last bale is put up... the corn is in the bin... the tractor is in the barn... the cows have all been fed... you've fed 10 thousand families over the years and now you can finally rest with your wife and visit with the Father in heaven... Jack, you always, said, "It'll be better next year!" Well, my brother, next year is here and your words have come true for you... You are in a better place... we are all the better for having you in our lives, the world is sad that you have left us but the world is a better place because of you. Some day... God willing, we will all be together again...
Go rest high, my brother, up on that mountain... Your time on earth is done.
We love you forever,
Michael, Anneliese, Madeleine, Bowe, and Colter Bessette
