John M. Lucht's Obituary
John M. Lucht, age 79 of Amherst, WI passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 with his loving family by his side. John was born on September 21, 1944; son of the late William and Agnes (Boelter) Lucht in the Town of Lanark, WI. He attended Amherst High School, graduating class of 1962. On February 8, 1964 John married his true love, Barbara Grenlie. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. John worked as a mason for union in construction until his retirement. He enjoyed making wine, camping at Captains Cove and attending Hodag, gardening, farming, raising beef and pigs and loved watching birds from his precious chair. He was an avid Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. John was a jack of all trades and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making his rounds to local taverns to visit with everyone over a cold drink. He was a man of few words, but what he said left an impression.
John was a devoted member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca.
John is survived by his wife Barbara Lucht of Amherst; children Judy (Chuck) Genskow of Amherst; Joni (Cory) Lucht of Milwaukee; John (Amy) Lucht of Amherst; grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Sudmeier of Amherst; Lydia (Grant) Stearns of Waupaca; Jack Lucht of Amherst; Sydney Stardy of Milwaukee; siblings Robert Lucht; Ardyce “Toots” Douglas; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Chuck, brothers Jeremiah, Herbert and Frederick.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
