John R. Mueller
King, WI (Formerly of Eureka, WI) Age 84 – died peacefully on February 11, 2008 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Leutswvil, Switzerland on July 27, 1923, a son of John C. and Clara (Weph) Mueller. He lived most of his life in Eureka, WI. John served his country in the Army Air Corps as an aviation mechanic during WW II. While serving in the Army he met his wife, Eleanor M. Karschney. They were married in San Luis Obispo on December 3, 1945. John and Ellie settled in Eureka, WI where they raised their family. He worked at Universal Foundry in Oshkosh, where he earned his journeyman’s card as an electrician. After his retirement, he remained active with the Grace Lutheran Church in Omro, serving the church in many capacities, most recently as an Elder. John received much personal satisfaction in being able to serve his church and its members. John is survived by his wife, Ellie, now residing at Ainsworth Hall at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, three daughters: Connie (Ron) Maronn of Eureka, Avis (Tom) Gunnell of Cincinnati, OH, Marcia (Pete) Bodway of Weyauwega, and a son: John K. (Becky) Mueller of Winneconne. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister: Margaret Gerczynski of Arizona and many wonderful nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; John and Clara Mueller, a sister; Clara Wanek, an uncle; William “Bill” Mueller, and a nephew; John C. Mueller. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church in Omro, WI on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Richard Bartholomew, officiating. Interment will be in the Eureka Cemetery, Township of Rushford, Winnebago County, WI. Friends may call at the Grace Lutheran Church in Omro on Friday evening from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial service. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements. Many, many thanks to his friends on Ainsworth Hall 3rd floor, and to Theda Care at Home Hospice for taking such good care of him. We appreciate you. Thanks and God bless all of you.
