John Dunzell Taylor's Obituary
John D. Taylor, 92 of King, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at WI Veterans Home-Olson Hall in King, Wisconsin. He was born on November 3, 1927 Clarksville, Mississippi. John married the love of his life, Vernilla Ashe on September 30, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. John was an upholstery and tailor for the US government for over 37 ½ years. John was in a male choir in Chicago and was a member of Park Manor Christian Church in Chicago and was also a member of their choir. John also attended Church of Christ-Central in Milwaukee. After moving to King, Wisconsin, he faithfully attended services at the chapel in Olson Hall. John enjoyed music, singing, and dancing. John will be mostly remembered as having a compassionate heart and always cared for everyone he had an opportunity to serve. John was a loving and devoted husband and always told his wife “God and I are always with you”.
John is survived by his wife, Vernilla; son, David Taylor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Clothia Taylor of Chicago, Illinois; nieces, Teri Duncan of Topeka, Kansas and Donna Shepherd of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Darryl Dunzell Taylor; sisters, Beatrice Taylor, Mary Hudson and Elizabeth Anderson and brother, Roosevelt Taylor.

A Funeral Service officiated by Chaplain Rich Engle will be at Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in the Olson Hall Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020, visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, following the service there will be Military Honors.
