JOHN E. THOMAS
ALMOND, WISCONSIN
Age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at his home in Almond, WI. He was born April 14, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI; son of Arden and Margery (Laukenman) Thomas. On July 27, 1963, John married Darlene Pomerenke at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola, WI. He will be deeply missed by all of his loving family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, Darlene Thomas of Almond, WI; two children, Shelley Thomas of Waupaca, WI and Jamie (Tatiana) Thomas of Manassas, VA; a daughter-in-law, Jane Thomas of Almond, WI; five grandchildren, Joe (Megan) Passarella of Waupaca, WI, DJ Passarella of Waupaca, WI, Brianna Thomas of Waupaca, WI, Michael (Samantha) Thomas of Waupaca, WI, and Christopher Thomas of Almond, WI; eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Caleb, Malia, Allie, Isaac, Austin, Peyton, and Reagan; four brothers, Henry (Patty) Thomas of Phillips, WI, Donald Thomas of Vesper, WI, Jeff (Nancy) Thomas of Arpin, WI, and Fred Thomas of Vesper, WI; and one sister, Marjorie (Andy) Hogan of Rudolph, WI. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arden and Margery Thomas; a son, Brian Thomas; and two brothers, Jim Thomas and Arden Thomas.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Victory Church, E3443 S. Appletree Lane, Waupaca, WI. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the church. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
