John Wimme's Obituary
John A. Wimme, age 88, of King, WI., formerly of Nelsonville, WI., passed away on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall, where he was a resident. He was born in Nelsonville on March 9, 1921, a son of the late Henry and Eva (Diver) Wimme. John married Cleo Smith on September 24, 1949 in Phillips, WI. She survives. He is a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church. John was the Postmaster in Nelsonville for over 30 years. He also had been a member of the American Legion Post in Amherst. John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survivors include his Wife: Cleo Wimme, Amherst, WI; Daughters: Judy (Tony) Canales, Pardeeville, WI; Joan Wimme, Lake Nebagamon, WI; Son: Lynn (Rocky) Wimme, Cass Lake, MN; Grandchildren: Chanin (Al) Herman, Little Chute, WI; Jason (Katie) Riley, Oregon, WI; Tessa Antilla, St. Paul, MN; Jessie (Aaron) Anderson, Duluth, MN; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Bernice Lubecki, Richfield, WI. John was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Main Chapel in King, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
