Joseph S. Ebert's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Stephen Ebert, a beloved father, devoted outdoorsman, and cherished friend, who left this world on December 14th 2024 at the age of 60. Born and raised on the farm, Joe embraced a life deeply intertwined with nature, cultivating a profound appreciation for the great outdoors that he would carry with him and pass on this passion with his children, throughout his life.
From an early age, Joe was involved in the 4H Club, where he showcased his beloved horses, Sonny and Scooter. This passion for animals and the outdoors flourished into a lifelong dedication to hunting and fishing - hobbies he pursued with great enthusiasm. He shared countless memorable moments in the field accompanied by his loyal dogs, Rooster and Houston, who were his trusted companions on pheasant hunts. Those memories were also shared with close family, friends, and his children.
An avid gun enthusiast, Joe possessed an endless knowledge of firearms, eagerly teaching those around him about proper shooting techniques and the intricate details of different gun models. His friends and family often marveled at his ability to identify the make and model of a gun with a mere glance, a true testament to his passion and expertise.
Joe's interests extended beyond hunting and shooting; he enjoyed hand loading, cooking delicious meals to share with loved ones, cracking Ole and Lena jokes, and drawing wildlife scenery to capture the beauty of nature that he so admired.
Faith and family were paramount to Joe. He maintained a strong relationship with his Lord while spreading the love of God in every opportunity he had. He cherished each moment spent with family and selflessly helped anyone who needed support. His greatest accomplishment and dream was to purchase a home with hunting land, which he achieved in his retirement after working 34 years at the Waupaca Foundry. Joe created a welcoming sanctuary for his children to gather, share stories, and create lasting memories.
Joe's love for life and his unwavering spirit will forever remain in our hearts. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished moments, outdoor adventures, and a passion for nature that will inspire future generations. He will be dearly missed, remembered for his contagious laughter, his generous heart, his vast knowledge of the wild, and his faith in the Lord.
Joe is survived by his loving children, Taylor Ebert and Tyler Ebert, his father, Marlyn Ebert and his siblings Steve Ebert (wife Heather) Chris Ebert (wife Tammy) Andy Ebert (wife Melanie) Beth Ebert Pozorski (husband Mike) and Sarah McAninch (husband Aaron). Proceeding his death was his mother Lorraine Ebert and sister in law Heather Ebert.
In honor of Joe, services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation at 10am and a service at 11 am. Guests are invited to stay and share their favorite memories and stories after services over a small luncheon, as we remember a man who truly lived life to the fullest.
Rest in peace, Joe. Your spirit will soar through the fields and forests you loved so dearly.
