1982 the Joe and Ginny Leean crew walked into our Church in the Florida Keys and overnight the Leeans and the Weatherly's became a family. Throughout the years we have talked and prayed for each other . We also had so much fun - ate to much food-watched so many ball games-shared a few Thanksgivings-and had so many talks in the
backyard. With his booming voice and my southern accent it sounded like James Earl Jones sharing his wisdom with Andy Griffin, .He was a man that inspired people-helped people - mentored people-and just got things done. Through it all his family never left his mind and his faith in Jesus remained stead fast. We are so thankful that the Lord let us be a part of the Leeans life and we pray on this February 16 , 2022 the Holy Spirit will comfort this amazing family. ….Guy and Lynda Weatherly

Hands down (mostly because I didn't know the answers in class) one of the best, if not the best, teacher in Waupaca hs when I attended. I heard about his further endeavors of owning dings dock and the casino, then politics, from my parents and it didn't surprise me at all. Being so smart and nice, he could, and did, anything he set his sights on
RIP Mr Leean, can I take my make-up exam now?

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of (Senator Joe Leean). I worked in the office of Senator Mike Ellis for 29 years. He and Mike were good friends. Joe was indeed a great representative of the State of Wis. Rest in paradise, Joe.

Joe was my geometry teacher and was always there to help me and others. When he became senator I took my daughter’s Girl Scout troop down to tour the capitol. He took the time to visit with us and let the girls know about the Wisconsin senate. He remembered me and laughingly asked if I was still working on my geometry proofs. When he retired, I would see him in church and he always had time to say hello. He was a inspirational person and will truly be missed. R.I.P. Joe Leean.

I was inspired by Joe …. He was a successful entrepreneur who I always enjoyed talking with and learning from - his accomplishments were many and his life balance was spot on. Joe and Ginny raised a wonderful family. Heaven gained an amazing angel with Joe”s arrival. The Leean family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. He was one of the best legislators I served with…fair, smart, respectful, creative and always dignified. He was a rock for our caucus and a truly gifted public servant. And I enjoyed after hours fun with him, singing or chatting. He so loved his community and his family. I am so sad to hear of Joe’s passing. A great family friend and mentor to me. I remember Joe driving one of the Connie Dees through the Beasley channel and always waving to me on the shore. After getting a C on my first Physics test, he took me aside and told me he expected a better effort from me. He got it. A few years ago, I was visiting Charlie Justman when Joe stopped by. We had a nice “catch up” discussion. My condolences to Ginny and the girls. We lost a good one.
