Josephine Trebe's Obituary
Josephine K. Trebe, age 94, of Stevens Point, formerly of Amherst, passed away on Monday, May 2nd, 2005 at Stevens Point Care Center. She was born in Stevens Point, on November 30, 1910, a daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Sharafinski) Sankey. On October 21, 1929 she married Paul P. Trebe at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church - Fancher. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1972. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. She also had been a member of the St. James Altar Society in Amherst and St. Mary's Rosary Society at Fancher. Josephine liked gardening, playing cards, bingo, dancing, polka music, baking bread and apple pies and making pancakes. She also enjoyed wallpapering. Survivors include: 5 Children: Dorothy (Lucas) Wolloch, Juction City, WI.; Jeanette Tiske, Oak Creek, WI.; Frederick (Gwen) Trebe, New Berlin, WI.; Richard (Rose) Trebe, Amherst, WI.; Marcella (Adrian Omernick) Trebe, Amherst Jct., WI.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Cornelia Flugaur, Port Edwards, WI.; Virginia Perek, Chicago, IL. Josephine is further survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Paul Trebe Sr., 4 sons - Leonard, Clarence, and James Trzebiatowski and Paul Trebe Jr.; 6 sisters - Emma Megal, Eleanor Megal, Agnes Ross, Genevieve Nicolussi, Regina Sankey and Caroline Siok; 3 brothers - Ben, Albin and Donald Sankey. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church - Fancher, at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 4th, with Father Robert Pedretti officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Amherst. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3 from 4 until 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation also on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. A memorial has been established in the name of Josephine K. Trebe.
