Joyce F. (Knaack) Whitney, age 82 passed away peacefully Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Wisconsin Veteran's Home, King, WI. Joyce was born November 28, 1927 in Neenah, WI, the daughter of Raymond & Eva (Baer) Knaack. On December 15, 1945, Joyce married James Whitney. Joyce worked for Home Lumber as an interior decorator for several years, until retirement. Joyce & Jim enjoyed camping and fishing at Shady Rest Campground - Post Lake, Elcho, WI for several years. Joyce also enjoyed deer hunting and bowling. She also loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much. Survivors include; her husband Jim of 64 years, King; her daughter Sharon Mathison, Winchester; her son Dean (Ann) Whitney, Winchester. Grandchildren; Kim (Brian) Ritchie, Long Lake; Nathan (Anne) Whitney, Milwaukee; Glen (Lisa) Mathison, Winchester; Travis (Kristen) Whitney, Redgranite; Scott (Jenny) Mathison, Winchester; Kristina (Mark) Stadler, Appleton; Amy (Gregg) Wilke, Winneconne. Great Grandchildren, Alyssa, Danielle, Natalie, Conway, Hailey, Elise, Katie, Kaylee, Lindsay, Carsen, Aubrey, Benett. Brothers, Richard (Susan) Knaack, Charles (Bernadine) Knaack, Dan (Joan) Knaack. Brother in law & Sister in law, Lawrence Tessen, Peter Weitz, Donald & Olga Whitney, Mae & Robert Ulrich. Furthered survived by nieces and nephews and her special cat, Molly. Joyce was preceded in death by her son in law, Dean Mathison, sister in laws, Beverly Tessen & Ruth Weitz. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Main Chapel, Wisconsin Veteran's Home, King, WI. Friends will be received at the Main Chapel, one hour prior to service. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers that cared for Joyce during her final days. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joyce’s name.
