Judith L. Hansen's Obituary
Judith Lee Hansen, age 83, of Wild Rose, WI, formerly of Huntley, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Rosemore Village in Wild Rose, WI. She was born June 2, 1938 in Elgin, IL; daughter of Arnold and Marie (Wolff) Kalsow. Judy was raised in Dundee, IL and attended Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Dundee-Crown High School in 1956. After high school, she attended Northwestern Evanston School of Nursing in Evanston, IL where she obtained her nursing degree in 1959. On May 9, 1964, Judy married Harold Hansen in Dundee, IL and together through the years they raised two wonderful children. Judy and Harold retired to Wild Rose, WI in 2001.
Judy worked in the surgery department for 6 years at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL, was a stay-at-home mother for 12 years, and worked for the Huntley School District #158 in Huntley, IL for 21 years as their school registered nurse. She also owned/operated with her husband J & H Mini Storage, Hansen Heating and Plumbing, and Hansen Tree Farm for many years.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wild Rose, WI, served on the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary (president from 2008-2013), was a former member of the Penquin Snowmobile Club in Huntley, IL (founder and first secretary), and the McHenry Co. ACS (secretary).
Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years Harold Hansen, Sr. of Wild Rose, WI; two children Harold (Tammy) Hansen, Jr. of Wild Rose, WI and Janet (Randy) Sharbuno of Goodyear, AZ; four grandchildren Jacob Hansen, Andrew (fiancée Gia Berg) Hansen, Karla Sharbuno, and Alex Sharbuno; one sister Carolyn (Richard) Krause of Pittsford, NY; a brother-in-law Larry Fettes of Dundee, IL; a sister-in-law Judy Hansen of Huntley, IL; and also by a step-sister, step-brothers, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Kalsow; her father and step-mother Arnold (Erna) Kalsow; an infant brother; a sister Ruthann Fettes; and a brother-in-law Warren Hansen.
Per Judy’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Memorials are appreciated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 240, Wild Rose, WI 54984. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial gifts received and any future gifts will be directed to TCWR Volunteers. There will be two scholarships given per year in Judy's name.
