Wanda, Shirley Soto called to tell me of Karen's passing. Was so sorry to hear about your loss of such a dear friend. Shirley was telling me she had applied years ago to work at Riverside but the DON {a man} wouldn't hire her. She was told he only wanted young goodlooking nurses working there. Well after he left Karen came on board and Shirley went right down to reapply. Karen hired her on the spot. I hope to get down to Waupaca one of these days as my granddaughter plays hockey there.
