Kathleen Stefanski's Obituary
Kathleen I. (Kitty) Stefanski, age 89, of Waupaca, WI., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6th, 2009, at Crystal River Nursing & Rehab. Center in Waupaca. She was born in Winona, MN. on April 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles and Theodosia (Kowalewski) Cooper. She married Frank Stefanski on June 21, 1941 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2000. Kitty was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Kitty so much enjoyed going out to breakfast every Thursday with the St. Max Breakfast Club. She also enjoyed helping out at the Church dinners, and attending all of the potluck's with her St. Max friends. Survivors include her Children: Steve (Peggy) Stefanski; Rev. Eric (Patricia) Stefanski; Linda (Robert) Yerkes; Kerry (Jack) Luderus; Grandchildren: Stephen Stefanski, Kristin Carlson, Kimberly, Kevin, James Luderus, Kelly Sullivan, Jessy Karides, Julianna & Katie Stefanski; Great Grandchildren: Melissa McLaughlin, Zachary, Kennedy, Macy Carlson, Chloe Holmskov, Alexandra and Zoey Sullivan; Great Great Grandchild: Hunter McLaughlin. She is further survived by many other relatives and good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frank, daughter, JoAnn Wales, grandson, Bobby Yerkes, sister, Aileen Wagner, 4 brothers, John, Charles, David and Gordon Patrick Cooper. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 8611 State Hwy 54, Almond, between Plover & Waupaca, at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009, with Father Daniel Farley officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date. Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Maximilian Kolbe Rectory Fund. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the Crystal River Nursing and Rehab. Center, Riverside Hospital and Dr. Earl Anderson for their kind and compassionate care. We would also like to thank the Prayer Chain at St. Max's, the Breakfast Club members, and all of our friends for their prayers, support, visits and thoughtfulness to Kitty. We are so grateful.
