Kathryn Davies' Obituary
Kathryn “Katie” Davies
June 22, 1917-October 5, 2010 Kathryn Davies, 93, of Preston Place, Redgranite, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 5, 2010 at the age of 93. She was born on June 22, 1917 to Allen and Elizabeth (Lowe) Davies in Wild Rose. A lifelong resident of Waushara County, Kathryn lived most of her life in Wild Rose. Kathryn was well known for her sense of humor and a tremendous, positive attitude.
Kathryn took loving care of her father after her mother passed away. She was hampered throughout her life by a permanent reaction to an incorrect medication given to her during childhood that affected her balance, made it difficult to walk and affected her kidneys. However, her positive attitude and sense of humor made her a pleasure to be around. She enjoyed many fine friends from her years in Wild Rose, Rosemore Village, and Preston Place. A loving, caring and thoughtful person, Kathryn will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. She was a sweet lady, very independent with a gentle and simple nature.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters: Gwenith Hughes and Betty Burlingham. She is survived by her brother-in-law: Howell Hughes, Spokane, Washington, nephews: Roger Hughes, Spokane, Washington, Douglas Hughes, Moscow, Idaho and niece: Diane Hughes of Moscow, Idaho.
A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Wild Rose United Methodist Church in Wild Rose, WI. Reverend Yul Kwon will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Interment immediately following the service at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Wild Rose with a light lunch to follow at the church.
