Kenneth L. Durrant's Obituary
Kenneth L. Durrant, age 86, of Stoughton and Waupaca, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Waupaca, on September 8, 1929, a son of the late Kirkwood and Hazel (Lyons) Durrant.
Ken served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He married Donna Benjamin on March 30, 1973 in Madison. Ken had several different jobs which included driving school bus, driving semi's, Millcraft and Frito Lay. He was then self employed hauling hay and really enjoyed talking to the farmers. He enjoyed playing pool at the Senior Center, farming, talking to people, sharing a good laugh, being with his children and grandchildren, playing cards, dancing and listening to polka music.
Survivors include his Wife: Donna; Daughters: Judy (Roger) Ingraham, Stoughton, WI; Barbara (Gary) Thompson, Sun Prairie, WI; Step-Children: George Murphy, Nekoosa, WI; Pat Doolittle, Columbus, WI; Brenda (Mark) Rice, Waupaca, WI; Brother: Willard "Bill" (Pauline) Durrant, Waupaca, WI; Grandchildren: Brian (Robin) Ingraham, Madison, WI; Brad (Beth) Ingraham, Elroy, WI; Bill Thompson, South Korea; Tina King, Waupaca, WI; Kimberly (friend-Jason) Rice, Altoona, WI; Ashley (friend-Joshua) Rice, Waupaca, WI; Benjamin (Brooke) Rice, Richfield, MN; Great Grandchildren: Bella and Max Ingraham, Madison, WI; Emma, Niah, Jason and Adonu Ingraham, Elroy, WI; Adrianna Miller and Devin King, Waupaca, WI; and good friend: Douglas Abrahamson, Waupaca, WI. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters - Charlotte and Lorraine, a brother - E. Everette, sister-in-law - Ruth and two nephews - Ward and Lee Durrant.
Funeral Services will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11:30 AM on Friday, February 5th, 2016. Interment will be held at Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Farmington, Waupaca Co., WI at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family of Kenneth Durrant.
