Kenneth J. Trinrud's Obituary
Kenneth J. Trinrud - age 87 - formerly of Amherst, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born in Scandinavia, WI on March 11, 1927, the son of Loren and Emma (Knutson) Trinrud. He married Shirley M. Borgen on April 28, 1949 in Amherst, WI, and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2012.
Ken is survived by his son: Richard (Marilyn Fields) Trinrud of Rock Island, IL, his daughter: Tara Augustine of Colorado Springs, CO, and grandchildren: Megan Trinrud, Nathaniel Trinrud, and Anthony Augustine. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his parents, a brother, Lavern Trinrud, and a sister, Elaine Bestul.
Ken was a long time member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI. He had served his country in the Merchant Marine and then in the U.S. Army during WW II. He had been employed as a sales person in the surgical supply field and had received many distinguished sales awards. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a passion for golf and had a hole in one during his playing days. He was very passionate about his family and expressed that many times to friends and acquaintances.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI, with the Reverend Dwight Anderson - Peace Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in Scandinavia, WI. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Monday, one hour prior to the time of the funeral service. Memorials can be directed to the: Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (www.fallenheroesfund.org) in memory of Kenneth J. Trinrud. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
