Kurt Kenowski's Obituary
Kurt D. Kenowski, 62, Town of Amherst, Portage County, Wisconsin died Friday, February 5, 2021 of pancreatic cancer. Kurt dealt with his illness bravely, showing impressive strength and grace. He was born December 26, 1958 in Stevens Point to the late Raymond and Delores (Knitter) Kenowski.
He was employed at the Del Monte/Silgan plant in Plover for 41 years, where he became known as “Keno” to his fellow workers. He was a steady and dependable worker, dedicated to his job. Kurt was raised on the family farm and came to regard it as God’s country. Over the years, he helped out his dad on the farm, and later took over when Ray got older. They both enjoyed attending farm equipment auctions together. Kurt was a caregiver to his dad before Ray passed away in 2020.
Kurt had a talent for art, and did some excellent work in his earlier years. He was a kind and soft-spoken person who showed concern and compassion for others. He was even-tempered, generous, and loved his dogs.
He is survived by sisters Rita (Paul) Kropidlowski, Audrey (David) Roberts, Maureen Mason and Brenda Kenowski, and by brothers Kenneth and Alan Kenowski. All live in the Amherst/Stevens Point area. He is also survived by an uncle, two aunts, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Kurt will be dearly missed by all his family.
