Larry Joseph Fiegen's Obituary
Larry Joseph Fiegen, age 69, died on September 30, 2017 at the Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin. Larry is survived by his wife, Debra Fiegen, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, his ex-wife, Irene Fiegen (Boser), his children, Ashley Fiegen Otremba, Tessa Hammond and Chad Fiegen; step-children, Daren Manville, Jillane Saunders; and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Martin Fiegen, sisters Ellen Knezevic and Mary Ann Hebert, brothers Kenneth and Jerome Fiegen.
Larry was born on October 16, 1947 in Dell Rapids, S.D. The family moved to Buckman, MN in 1957 where they farmed. He attended St Michael's Grade School in Buckman and Pierz Memorial HS. He always got attention due to his curly red hair and freckles! He enlisted in the Marine Corps after leaving HS and served in the Vietnam War. Larry struggled with PTSD for many years although he worked successfully for Penske Corp for years. His favorite things included his children and grandchildren, dogs, hunting and fishing. He traveled widely in the world while working for US Turbine and this was a source of great pride for him! After retiring, he moved to a farm in Northome, MN area. Later he and his wife moved to Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
A memorial service will be held in Wisconsin Rapids at Cornerstone Church at a later date. His cremains/headstone will be at the Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley, MN. Arrangements are pending for a memorial service at Camp Ripley in MN. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
