LAVERN S. PLISKA
IOLA, WISCONSIN Age 80 passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Iola Living Assistance under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice. He was born January 2, 1926 in the Town of Alban, Portage Co., WI; son of Felix and Balvina (Kujawski) Pliska. On January 17, 1948, LaVern married Florence Gabor in Rosholt, WI. She preceded him in death on January 2, 1992. LaVern is survived by:
Children: Suzanne Pliska of Prairie Farm, WI
Thomas (Jeanette) Pliska of Plover, WI
Ronald (Helen) Pliska of Rosholt, WI
Jill (Thomas) Hemmy of Amherst Jct., WI
Five Grandchildren: Sarah Hemmy, Kelly Pliska, Ryan Pliska, Kimberly Pliska, and Michelle Pliska
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Florence Pliska, brother, Leonard Pliska, and a sister, Ann Hartman. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 9:30 AM at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt, WI. Father Marcin Mankowski will preside. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, June 30, 2006 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday evening. Burial will be at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Cemetery in Rosholt following the services on Saturday.
