LaVerne H. Kienert's Obituary
LaVerne H. Kienert, age 91, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 at Bethany Home. He was born in Waupaca, on June 26, 1925, a son of the late Walter and Edna (Grunwald) Kienert.
He married Avis Rasmussen on October 25, 1947 in Waupaca. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2015.
LaVerne served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. LaVerne was a long time member of the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca. He and Avis had owned and operated both the Rosa Theater in Waupaca and the former Highway 10 Outdoor Theater in Waupaca for 18 years. LaVerne always loved the times he could spend with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and was very proud of them all. He also enjoyed gardening and collecting phonograph records.
Survivors include his Children: Karen (Michael) Gierczak, Green Bay, WI; Kathleen (James) Corrigan, Waupaca, WI; Sandra (Richard) Lashua, Iola, WI; Cynthia (John) Smith, Libertyville, IL; Jacqueline (Eric) Spindt, Waupaca, WI and Timothy (Yvette) Kienert, Waupaca, WI; 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren; a Sister: Carolyn (John) Smith, Waupaca, WI and a Sister-in-law: Maxine (Dennis) Kienert-Degodt, Weirsdale, FL and Waupaca, WI. LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Avis, a brother, Richard and a son-in-law, Ted Andrews.
Funeral Services will be held at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca at 1 PM on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016, with Reverend Ronald Siemers officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Lind Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 11 AM until the time of the service at the church. A memorial has been established in the name of LaVerne H. Kienert.
