Lawrence Rust's Obituary
Lawrence J. Rust, age 58, of Wautoma, Wisconsin , passed away Monday, September 19th, 2005 at his residence. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 16, 1947, the eldest son of Herman and Elizabeth Rust. Lawrence was a 1965 graduate of Aquinas High School and was a decorated Naval Veteran. He worked for several companies - Menard's, Diamond Transportation, Borg Werner, Cargil, Edward's Investments, Department of Corrections, Department of Health and Family Services - UW La Crosse and lastly Department of Veterans - King, Wisconsin. He is survived by:
A brother - Eugene (Joan) Rust of Agawam, Mass.
Three sisters - Marilyn (Victor) Jelenck of Webster City, Iowa Marie (Steve) Kautz of Portland, Oregon Jolene Rust of La Crosse, WI all of whom supported Lawrence during his illness
Lawrence leaves four children whom he loved and was proud of (most of the time):
David (Heather) Rust of Chippewa Falls, WI
Tori Rust of Altoona, WI
Elizabeth Rust of Eau Claire, WI
Jodi (K.C.) Bennett of Jacksonville, FL
Eight grandchildren: Issac and Seth Rust; Nyah (Martha) Rust; Lucas and Kyla Rust; Chaz , Sean and Morgan Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lawrence was blessed with a very special angel Judy Norton of Wautoma who was with him through countless hospital visits, doctor visits and treatements. She could always make a bad day a little brighter and he loved her very much. He raised beef cattle, cut pulp, (never cared much for horses), loved fishing and hunting. Because of his education, experience and ambition he was well liked and respected by many friends, peers and co-workers. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wautoma. Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep will officiate. Entombment of cremains will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma. Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Hospice Hope. (This obituary was written by Lawrence after he was diagnosed with cancer.)
