Jonas Moen
A very special man, fortunately, my father and mentor. He was a devoted family man, where he went we went. The Air Force liked to send him to places that were 1 year assignments and so he was supposed to go alone for 1 year. Dad thought differently and would take the family anyway, at much cost to the family because Uncle Sam was not paying for it. Often we would be somewhere without furniture, but we were together. He and mother made sure we had what we needed. He was always the handyman, remodeling the home from the shingles down to the 'yet undug" basement. I believe we wore out many a shovels. That huge monolith of a cement stair-step on the front of the lake house was ceremoniously buried in a hole right in front of the basement-to-be. He instilled in us a can do attitude, so go build it. Definitely led by example. Always the gracious host and loved family get togethers. He was a gift from God for sure. He wore out his earthly body but is now enjoying his eternal body. Be seeing you dad. but not too soon.
