Le Roy J. Kettlewell's Obituary
Le Roy John Kettlewell, age 62, of Saxeville, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 2, 2015 at his home.
He was born October 11, 1952 in Berlin, WI.
For the past 18 years, Le Roy and Lisa lived on the Saxeville millpond where Le Roy was able to enjoy his hobbies of fishing and trapping. He also loved to hunt and touched many lives in his role as a Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor for over 20 years.
Le Roy was a member of the Poy Sippi Volunteer Fire Department for 39 years. He was a First Responder for 20 years. He was dedicated to his role of “head chicken cooker” for the department’s very popular fundraiser.
Le Roy was never known to turn down a hand of cribbage and enjoyed weekly poker nights with the boys.
He is survived by his parents, Ken and Wanda Kettlewell; girlfriend, Lisa Michels; brother, Earl (Lori) Kettlewell; sister, Juanita Kettlewell; nephew, Andrew DiSanza; and niece, Lauren DiSanza. Le Roy was considered a member of the Michels’ family and will also be sadly missed by Jerry (Carla) Michels, Phyllis Michels, Jerry (Dena) Michels, Steve (Rochelle) Michels, and Ann (Tim) Chier; Ashley, Jerry, Kali, Jamie, Scott; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen (Schrei) Kettlewell.
Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi from 1 p.m. until a service by Pastor Paul Brinkman at 4:30 p.m. Le Roy had expressed that he felt that funerals should be celebrations of life. Please come prepared to share your favorite story. A potluck meal will be held at the Poy Sippi Fire Station following the service.
