Leland Johnson's Obituary
Leland P. Johnson, age 90, of Stevens Point Care Center formerly of Almond, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Care Center. Leland was born in Almond, WI on February 21, 1914, the son of the Martin and Edith (Palmer) Johnson. He married Mae Rath on Sept. 25, 1937 in Almond. In the 1940's Leland owned and operated an Implement Dealership. Later he ran a government potato farm in Williston, N. D. He also owned and operated the Gambles Store in Almond and was a Director of the Federal Land Bank Assoc. from 1969 -1982 and served on the National Advisory Board. He was a Charter member of the Almond Lions Club and retired in 1973 from L.P. Johnson Farms, Inc.
Leland is survived by his wife: Mae Johnson, Stevens Point Care Center; sons: Robert (Karen) Johnson of Stevens Point, WI and James (Lynne) Johnson of Almond, WI. six Grandchildren: Craig (Laurie) Johnson; Jennifer Johnson; Carol (Kevin) Fenske; Charles (Naomi) Johnson; Michael & David Johnson and two Great Grandchildren: Kyra & Elise. Leland was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria and four sisters.
Funeral Service will be at Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 16, with Reverend Daniel Iwinski, officiating. Interment will be in the Almond Village Cemetery. Friends may on Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at Hardell-Holly Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in Leland's name
