Leon J. Cole's Obituary
Leon J. Cole, age 86, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Veterans Home. Leon was born in Neenah, WI on September 27, 1926, the son of the late Earl and Helen (Hebert) Cole. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he worked for the Railroad as a section hand. He moved to the Wisconsin Veterans Home in 1982 and while there helped raise the flags everyday and also served on the Military Funeral Detail. He is survived by his brother: LeRoy (Chris) Cole, Appleton and also by many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Florence Schindler, Helen Cole, Edna Birling, Phyllis Drossart and two brothers, Earl (Bud) Cole and Wayne Cole. The Memorial Service will be on Monday, September 9 at 11 AM at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall Chapel with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Military Graveside Services will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the Olson Hall Chapel.
