Leona Toftum's Obituary
Leona I.Toftum, age 83, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, April 8th, 2006 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. She was born in Town of Buena Vista, Portage Co., on July 7, 1922, a daughter of the late Benjaman and Selma (Schmidt) Boelter. Leona married Raymond E. Toftum on May 1, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2000. Leona was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst. Survivors include 3 Sons: Jerry (Carol 'Shelly') Toftum, Weston, WI; Mark (Pam) Toftum, Waupaca, WI; Danny (Barbara) Toftum, Amherst, WI; 10 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; a Brother: Lester Boelter, Winona, MN; 2 Sisters: Frieda Bobbe, Amherst, WI; Alta Sannes, Scandinavia, WI. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a great grandson - Sammy Ray Burgoyne and a brother - Arlyn Boelter. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 13th, with Reverend Chris Schwanz, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 until 7:30 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, with a Prayer Service to be held at 6:30 PM. Visitation also on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the service at the church.
