Leonard F. Adamick's Obituary
Leonard F. Adamick, age 93, of Waupaca, WI , died peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 surrounded by his family at his residence. Leonard was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 15, 1915, the son of the late Adolph and Caroline (Borowiec) Adamick. Leonard married Eleanore B. Tronsen on May 1, 1937 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Chicago. In Chicago, he worked at Plastic & Bake Lite Products. Leonard was inducted into the US Army on Dec. 23, 1943. He served in the infantry in France where he was wounded. He received the Purple Heart and was discharged on July 17, 1945. Leonard and Eleanore moved to Waupaca in 1967. His hobby was woodworking and he was very active in gardening. He is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Parish. Leonard is survived by his wife: Eleanore B. Adamick, Waupaca, his grandchildren: Nancy Wheeler, Neenah, WI; Mike Gneist, Texas; James (April) Gneist, Scandinavia, WI, his great-grandchildren: Tiffany (Eric) Neuber; Derek Gneist; Andrew Gneist and Jesse Gneist and one great-great-grandchild: Skylar. Leonard is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Arlene Gneist, two brothers-Harry and Fred Adamick and one sister-Leona. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Waupaca with Reverend Brian Belongia, officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of mass at the church. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
