Leonard Goldapski's Obituary
Leonard P. Goldapske, age 90, of King, WI, passed away on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Stordock Hall, King, WI. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI on May 6, 1923, a son of the late Paul and Minnie (Heber) Goldapske. Leonard married Marjorie J. Scherck on April 22, 1944 in Fond du Lac, WI. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Leonard had served on the N. Fond du Lac Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an active member of his bowling and horseshoe league. Leonard was a member of a polka band. He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and children. Survivors include his Wife: Marjorie Goldapske, Wild Rose, WI; Children: Sandra (Richard) Groeschel, Fond du Lac, WI; Steven (Anita) Goldapske, East Troy, WI; Michael Goldapske, Wild Rose, WI; Five Grandchildren; Two Great Grandchildren; Brothers: Henry (Pat) Goldapske, N. Fond du Lac, WI; Elmer (Billie) Goldapske, N. Fond du Lac, WI; Paul (Karen) Goldapske, Van Dyne, WI; Fred Goldapske, Fond du Lac, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters-in-law: John (Lucille), Robert (Emma), Charles (Joyce), Arthur (Virginia), Carol and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Minnie (Gerald) Altman, Anne (Mike Nolan) Tangnecker and Olga (Alfred) Toetz. Memorial Services will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI at 11 AM on Thursday, February 6th, 2014, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Interment will take place at Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, at a later date. Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Leonard P. Goldapske.
