Leonard Florian Yenter's Obituary
Leonard Florian Yenter, 82, of Amherst Junction, died on December 18, 2015, at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI. Lenny was born on December 21, 1932, in Rosholt, WI, son of the late Peter and Anna (Dulak) Yenter.
Lenny was an extremely hard worker, beginning as a young boy on his family farm, to joining the Air Force and serving in the Korean War. After serving, Lenny was united in marriage to the love of his life, Muriel Paulhus, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage this past June. He owned Lenny Yenter & Sons Painting and Roofing for over 50 years, finally agreeing to get off the roof and retire at the age of 75! He loved to play cribbage with his family and he and his brother, Richie, were pretty much unbeatable as partners when they played Sheepshead. Lenny also loved to dance.
Lenny was an avid hunter, having hunted out west 50 times and Alaska too. Lenny loved to fish anything from freshwater to salt water, ice to open water, and perch to sharks. But he only liked to fish a half day at a time; only 12 hours!!
He lived a full life and passed peacefully after a long illness.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Lenny was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings. He leaves behind his wife, a brother, two sisters, four children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
At Lenny's request, a private service will be held.
Lenny's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bethany Nursing home for the wonderful care they provided.
