Leora E. Treichler's Obituary
Leora Ellen Treichler passed away peacefully Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Park Vista Legacy Center in Waupaca, Wisconsin, surrounded by family, four days after her 97th birthday.
She was born January 11, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Lloyd and Rosalie Cooper of Brainerd. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1947 and from Brainerd Junior College in 1949. She worked as an executive secretary at various locations, including many years as the senior secretary for the chemistry department at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
She married Eldon Treichler on July 23, 1950. They lived in Cloquet, Minnesota, and Wheaton, Illinois, and more recently moved to Waupaca, Wisconsin, to be near family.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who liked nothing more than being with her family, and she will be sadly missed. Leora is survived by her children, son, Bruce (Peggy Bakken) Treichler of Maple Grove, Minnesota; daughters, Jacqueline (Steve Cummings) Treichler of Ferrum, Virginia; Carolyn “Kerry” (Andy) Jensen of Waupaca, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Paul Treichler of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Matthew Treichler of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Anthony Jensen of Stoughton, Wisconsin, Amanda Jensen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Benjamin (Jessica) Blaisus of San Diego, California; three great-grandsons, Marcus, Samuel and Rowan Blaisus of San Diego, California; sister-in-law, Ruth Treichler of Minneapolis, Minnesota; also cousins, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon, her parents, and sisters Connie and Shirley.
A celebration of life is being planned for Saturday, Jan. 31, starting at 3 p.m., at the Jackson Ranch, E3290 Bag Hill Road, Waupaca, Wisconsin. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, Minnesota. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
