LeRoy D. Petersen's Obituary
LeRoy “Donald” Petersen, age 87, of Waupaca, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. He was born August 2, 1936 in Big Falls, WI; son of Herman and Ruth (Woolsey) Petersen. LeRoy served in the U.S. Army from July 1954 until he was honorably discharged in July 1959. On August 18, 1956, he married Nathalee “Nat” Dugan in Carnegie, PA. While in the Army, he was stationed at Schofield on the island of Oahu, HI. He enjoyed the warm weather and took his discharge in California where both he and Nathalee lived for 21 years. They then moved to Florida for 26 years before moving back home to Wisconsin. LeRoy will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Nathalee “Nat” Petersen of Waupaca and his sister Joann (Robert) Tronsen of Waupaca. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Ruth Petersen.
Per LeRoy’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Burial will take place at a later date at Big Falls Cemetery in Big Falls, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
