Linda M. Hill's Obituary
Linda M. Hill, age 87, passed away February 20, 2026 at Bethany Nursing Home in Waupaca.
Linda was born to Claire and Ethel Porter of Ogdensburg on August 5, 1938. Growing up on a farm certainly nurtured her love and respect for animals. A proud member of the Waupaca High School Class of 1956, Linda worked at Bethany Home and Kimberly-Clark Corporation after graduating. On March 26, 1960 she married Kermit Peterson and began her life as wife and mother on the farm on Nelson Road. Always a great record (and score) keeper, she was well-suited for her many roles at First National Bank of Waupaca, where she worked from 1974 until her retirement. After Kermit passed away, Linda married Warren Hill and they began their life together in 1988. Linda was an avid Booster of the Comets, a lifelong fan of the Lakemen, a regular attendee at any and all of her grandkids’ events, a devoted quilter, and an active member of the Bethel Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church, but many remember her as a friendly face at the bank.
Linda is survived by her brother Harry Porter (Donna Henderson); sister-in-law Lillian and Larry Hanson, son Keith and Jane Peterson, daughter LuAnn and Brian Krueger, stepdaughter Tina Hill, and son-in-law Kenneth Dayton (Colleen McCoy); grandsons Kevin Peterson (Zoe Sparks), Blake Peterson (fiancée Amanda Connell), Ethan and Tori Dayton, Tyler Dayton, Ryan Dayton (fiancée Kathryn Hazen), Adam Kennedy (Jenna Hill), and Brady Kennedy (Kylie Frischman); great-granddaughters Margot and Meredith Dayton; and dozens of nieces and nephews and their families.
Preceding Linda in death was Kermit Peterson, Warren Hill; daughter Louise Dayton; stepson Tim Hill; sisters Ann and Marvin Mather, Charlotte and Willis Stoltenow, Janice and Jim McDaniel; sisters-in-law Judy Porter, Janet and John Slater.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wenberg and the tremendous professional care staff at Bethany, Pastor Chuck, Pastor Andy, and the ThedaCare hospice staff and volunteers for loving and caring for Linda in her last stages of life. A Memorial Service for Linda will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church of Waupaca, with Pastor Andy Behrendt officiating, on March 28, at 12:00 PM with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of service. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
