Lola Sorenson's Obituary
Lola (Grandma) Sorenson, age 95, of Wild Rose, WI, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital. Lola was born in Wild Rose on August 5, 1912, the daughter of the late Chester A. and Vinnie N. (Stevens) Jenks. On April 10, 1933 she married Floyd G. Sorenson in Wild Rose and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1978. She was a member of Wild Rose Baptist Church and served 14 years as Treasurer, was a 1930 graduate of Wild Rose High School and a 1931 graduate of Waushara Teachers College, a member of the Wild Rose Historical Society and had lived on the family farm near Saxeville for 51 years. Grandma is survived by her son: Arnold (Ardis) Sorenson of Wild Rose; her three grandchildren: Arliss (Julie) Sorenson of Wild Rose and their children, Brian, Andrew, Michelle (TJ) Yelich, Amy and Sean; Arlo (Susan) Sorenson of Omro and their children, Sandra, Samuel, Alan and Annalee; and Arletta (Craig) Saxe of Mauston and their children, Kevin and Kyle. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd and her brother, Carl Witzel Jenks. Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 18 at 11 AM at Wild Rose Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Scott Jones, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Wild Rose. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10 to 11 AM at the church. Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
