Loretta M. Check's Obituary
Loretta M. Check age 95 of Rosholt, WI, passed away on Saturday June 24, 2023. Loretta was born on December 13, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kiedrowski) Gierszewski. Loretta married the late Albert Check on June 17, 1952. They farmed for many years together with Vernon and farm hand Ambrose Bronk. She will be greatly missed as she was a very caring and giving person. She made many batches of ponzkas and innumerable amounts of pies. Loretta was a member of the Rosary Society and St. Adalbert choir. Loretta enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Loretta is survived by her son Vernon (Christine) Check of Rosholt, WI; her grandchildren Matthew Check, Benjamin (Sally) Check, Kimberly Check, Elizabeth (James) Weber, Mary Check and Margaret Check; her great grandchildren Alaina Check, Ellie and Grant Weber, many other relatives and friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Gierszewski and her husband Albert Check.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday June 29, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, WI. Reverend Father John Young will officiate with burial to follow at the St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Rosholt, WI. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Rosary service at 10:30 A.M. at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for masses to be said for the repose of the soul of Loretta.
