Lorie Jean Miller's Obituary
Lorie Jean Miller, 61, traded her earthly constraints for glorious new freedom on December 13, 2025. For all the years she could not move freely and do exactly as she wished, she is now walking, dancing, and standing tall. Lorie was born September 22, 1964 to Joyce (Berto) Arena and the late Sylvan Kvaley. Lorie enjoyed cooking, scrolling and sharing recipes on Facebook, shooting the sh*t with friends, relaxing on her floaty, and jamming around town on her scooter with her junkyard dog, Jax. Her favorite adventures were spent traveling to Mexico with the love of her life, John. Together, they collected memories, laughter, and more than a few good stories.
She is survived by her fiancé, John Kowalski; her daughter, Chrissy (Ed) Miller; her grandsons, Jordon (Skylar) Prondzinski and James Thomas; her mother, Joyce Arena; her sister and best friend, Dede (Patrick) Casey; her brother, Randy (Penny) Yerke; her aunt, Judy Floistad; her nephew, Travis Barutha and a large, loving extended family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
While we mourn the loss of Lorie, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain. In keeping with Lorie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A time for family and friends to pay their respects and share memories will be held January 8th, 2026 at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. No services will be held.
A true celebration of Lorie’s life will be held on a later and much warmer date, just the way she would have wanted.
