Age 78 – died on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. She was born on January 8, 1935 in the Township of Lanark, Portage County, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Ruth (Morgan) Borchert. She married Harvey P. Schulke on April 30, 1955 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Amherst. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2005.
Lorraine is survived by her son: Douglas Schulke (Friend: Nickie) of Waupaca, her daughter: Judy (Tim) Rice of Waupaca, sisters: Irene (Harlyn) Schulke of Almond, and Beulah (Gene) Heinz of Kaukauna, and a brother: Herbert (Carol) Borchert of Waupaca. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, her son, Darren, and her parents.
Lorraine was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Amherst for many years. She had been employed with the former Zwicker Knitting Mills and had also worked for the former Bowlby Candy Company in Waupaca. Lorraine loved fishing and some of her other interests included gardening, baking, and an occasional trip to a Casino.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI with the Reverend Donald Johnson, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst. A visitation will be held at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, WI on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, and at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the time of the service. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
