Lorraine Vaughan's Obituary
LORRAINE VAUGHAN
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN Age 93, moved on to her next great journey on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Bethany Home in Waupaca where she resided for the last ten years. Lorraine was born December 16, 1919 in Manitowoc, WI; the daughter of William and Caroline (Stege) Schwandt. She married Lester W. Vaughan on September 23, 1939 in the Town of Royalton, WI. They shared 35 years of marriage before his passing on September 17, 1975, and Lorraine terribly missed her husband, the “love of her life”, in the years that followed. She enjoyed having her picture taken, music and polka dancing with her husband, Lester. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca where she was active in various groups, played the organ, and enjoyed attending church, serving the Lord, every Sunday. Lorraine was a devoted mother and grandmother to not only her own family, but to many others who also called her “Grandma Vaughan” and she opened her home to them throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and many friends. Lorraine is survived by:
Children: Darla (Paul) Swisher of Waupaca, WI
Eugene (Elaine) Vaughan of Seymour, TN
Mike (Diane) Vaughan of Waupaca, WI
Shari (Harlan) Deitz of Iola, WI
LuAnn (Jerry) Hagen of Waupaca, WI
Teri Vaughan of Waupaca, WI
Grandchildren: 25
Great-Grandchildren: 33
Great-Great Grandchild: 1
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, William and Caroline Schwandt; her husband, Lester Vaughan; two great-grandchildren; one infant sister, one infant brother, and her sister, Edna Schultz. A Funeral Service will be Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca. Reverend Bob Bohn and Reverend Cliff Cameron will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf following the service on Monday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. A special thank-you to the staff at Bethany Home for all of their help and support to our family over the past ten years. Also, we would like to thank all of the pastors in the Waupaca community who have spiritually guided and influenced our mother in her life. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
