Luella Johnson's Obituary
Luella S. Johnson, age 76, of Iola, WI, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006 at the Iola Living Assistance Nursing Home where she has been a resident. Luella was born in Iola on May 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Elmer and Hilda (Olson) Gjertson. On May 27, 1950 she married J. Clyde Johnson in Iola. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2004. Luella worked for over 20 years at the Draft Board in Waupaca County. She then worked for 15 years at Krause Publications in Iola. She was a member of Farmington Lutheran Church, the Financial secretary of the church for 15 years, a member of the church choir for 52 years, a member of Iola County Club and a member of Iola Bridge Club.
She is survived by her brother: Herman (Donna) Gjertson of Iola, WI, Seven nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Luella was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Rebecca Knutson and two brothers, Clarence and Selmer Gjertson. Funeral Services will be at Farmington Lutheran Church at 2 PM on Friday, May 12, with Reverend Mark E. Sabin, officiating. Burial will be in the Farmington Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday afternoon from 1 to 2 PM at the church. A memorial fund has been established for the church. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
