Lyle H. Helmrick's Obituary
Lyle Helmrick, 89 passed away April 23, 2016 at Juliette Manor after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Lyle was born July 29, 1926 in Almond, Wi. the son of Edward Helmrick and Hazel (Detlor) Helmrick. In Sept. 1952 he married Lois Lind, she preceded him in death. He married Elaine Stevenson December 14, 1968.
Lyle owned and operated Lyle’s Standard Station in Berlin many years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. Lyle was a former member of the Berlin United Methodist Church, the Berlin Lions, Berlin Boat, and snowmobile clubs, also the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the US Army during WWII with General Patton,78th. Infantry Division in Germany as a mechanic, keeping the tanks and jeeps in good running condition.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Elaine, his children, Jeanne (Frank Blossom), John (MaryJo), Dave (Karen),Mary, (Mick McMade) Marykay (Brad Carroll), Doug (Liza) and Mike (Amy). 15 adored grandchildren. A Sister, Donna King , sister-in-law Helen (Collin) Deppe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, 3 brothers, Lee, Ray and Bill, 4 sisters, Irene, Bernice, Metta, Vi. and his fishing buddies, Arnie, Bob, Neil and Mike.
Memorials may be given to Wisconsin Lions Camp (a camp for the vision Impaired and handicapped) in Roshalt, Wisconsin, or a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Lyle’s life with full Military Honors will be held July 30th, 2016 in honor of his 90th birthday and years served in the Military at the Berlin VFW Club House, 420 North Wisconsin St , Berlin, Wi. Visitation with the family and lunch following the service.
