Lynn D. Winkie's Obituary
Lynn D. Winkie, age 67, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI formerly of Beaver Dam, WI, died Friday, May 22, 2009. Lynn was born on August 18, 1941, in Englewood, CA, the son of the late Douglas and Lorraine (Draheim) Winkie. Lynn was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Lynn is survived by two sons, Chad (Sandra) Winkie, Greendale, WI and Eric Winkie, Beaver Dam, WI; four grandchildren, Casie, Nick, Isabelle and Christopher; three sisters, Paula (Peter) Kohlhoff, Surprise, AZ, Sandy (Mike) Diefenbach, Beaver Dam and Jean (Dale) Klawitter, Beaver Dam; two brothers, William (Janice) Schlegel, Richmond, TX and James Schlegel Phoenix, AZ; four nephews, Jeff, Bill, Peter and Aaron; two nieces, Cynthia and Christie and one great nephew Brock. Lynn was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Schlegel and step-father, Bill Schlegel and several aunts and uncles. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 1:30 PM at the Wisconsin Veterans Home - Main Chapel with Rev. Wayne Schwanke, officiating. Full Military Graveside Services will follow at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at the Main Chapel. Lynn was a unique individual and loved life. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
