Lynn P. Gordon's Obituary
Lynn P Gordon of Mosinee, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on May 20, 2024, surrounded by family at the Aurora Medical Center-Grafton. He was born January 16, 1933, to LeRoy and Frances (Barnsdale) Gordon in Stevens Point. He married Bette Jean (Orella) on June 10, 1965. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2020. Lynn graduated from Amherst High School in 1951. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After serving his country for 7 months at the US Army Edgewood Chemical Center as a Chemical Engineer, he began his 34-year career at Mosinee Paper Co. He started work in the engineering department, holding multiple positions before retiring in 1991 as VP of Manufacturing. Throughout the rest of his life, he was lucky enough to continue his passion for papermaking by sharing his knowledge with his son, Gary who also works in the industry.
Lynn grew up in the village of Nelsonville on a dairy farm where he learned the value of hard work and the skills to fix almost anything. He enjoyed traveling with Bette and spending summers at their cottage. Lynn was a devoted Packer fan, missing few games over 59 years as a season ticket holder. He was proud to have attended the Ice Bowl and two Super Bowl victories. Lynn was an avid reader who was known to read up to seven Sunday newspapers and was always eager to share articles with others. He was a long-standing member of the Mosinee Lions Club, the Mosinee Boy Scout Council, the American Chemical Society, and the TAPPI and PIMA paper industry associations.
Survivors include his two children, Gary Gordon of Amherst and Gina (Fred) Pramenko of Mequon; his grandchildren Garrison Gordon and Ellie, Kate, and Maria Pramenko; sister-in-law Ruth Gordon of Nelsonville; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to nephew Brad Taylor, his wife Eileen, and long-time neighbors Bob and Karen Wieting for all their support. Lynn was preceded in death by his brother Gale.
