Margaret Walters' Obituary
Margaret C. Walters
Iola, WI
Age 81 – passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Iola Living Assistance. Margaret was born on September 21, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI where she lived her entire life until moving in 2004 with her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Ralph Bostwick, to Iola, WI. Margaret lived independently in Iola until moving to Iola Living Assistance in 2007. She married Joseph J. Walters on February 14, 1950 in Milwaukee and enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage until Joe’s passing on November 20, 1999. Margaret was a home maker and stay-at-home mom who worked very hard at this job. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, and gardening. Her latest enjoyment was working the weekly Trivia contest at Iola Living Assistance. When stumped by a question, she would not hesitate to quiz employees, residents, and relatives of residents for the answer. She was proud to be the holder of the Traveling Trivia Trophy, although it never traveled from her room because she won every week! Now it’s someone else’s turn for the trophy.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Ralph) Bostwick of Iola; two sons, Steve (Sherry) Walters of Hartford, and Dale Walters of Sullivan; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Katie Walters. She is further survived by two special nieces, Diane and Nancy, other nieces and relatives, and her friends at Iola Living Assistance. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, sisters, and other relatives.
Per her wishes no services will be held. Interment of cremains will be in the Wood National Veterans Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Iola Living Assistance for their wonderful, thoughtful care of Margaret. She said, more than once, that she couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to live. A special thank you goes to Peggy Henke, Activity Director, and all of the Activity Department Aides. Margaret enjoyed all of the activities that the department works so hard to provide. Thanks from Margaret for the Trivia Contest; she really, really enjoyed that the best!
