Marianne E. Gibbs' Obituary
Marianne E. Gibbs, age 83, of Wild Rose died on Monday, July 6, 2015. Marianne was born in the Town of Lind on July 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Bernard and Mildred (Prink) Verdon. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1952 and married Donald Gibbs on September 19, 1953 in Waupaca. She was a devoted housewife that raised 7 children while moving around the country and much of the time alone while Don spent over 20 years in the US Navy Aviation Service. Her hobbies included leather crafts, jewelry, swimming, golf, boating, camping, but most of all, being with family and friends.
Marianne is survived by her husband: Donald Gibbs of Wild Rose; her children: Randy (Lynette) Gibbs of Waupaca, Jeff Gibbs of Weyauwega, Brion (Pam) Gibbs of Waupaca, Dennis Gibbs of Waupaca, Sue Davidson of Almond, Michelle Roggenbauer of Waupaca, and Bruce (Laura) Gibbs of Waupaca; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Verdon. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jean Marie Smith.
A Memorial Service will be on Friday, July 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Reverend Barry Shaw, officiating. A visitation will be on Friday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
