MARIE HANSEN
Waupaca, WI (Formerly of Pine River, WI)
Age 88 – died on Friday, December 9, 2005 at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI. She was born on July 19, 1917 in Alto, WI, a daughter of the late Evert and Hannah (Loomins) Van Buren. She married Harland T. Hansen on March 28, 1940 in Waupun, WI. Marie is survived by her husband: Harland, her children: Marilyn (Darrel) Apps of Bridgeton, NJ, Julene (Donald) Berglund of Wild Rose, WI, Kenneth (Leanne) Hansen of Berlin, WI, Dennis (Deanna) Hansen of Shelbyville, KY, and Paul (Karen) Hansen of Pine River, WI, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and a brother: Marvin Van Buren of Alto, WI. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son: James, her parents, three sisters: Jenny Lunt, Rachel Navis, and an infant sister, and two brothers: Arthur and Harry Van Buren. Marie’s first priority was her faith, then her family and her home. She was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed music. She was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, WI, and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, WI. She remained active with the Ladies Aide in both churches for many years. She had also been a Sunday School Teacher at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church for a number of years. As a young lady she had been the church organist at the Alto Christian Reform Church in Alto, WI. She had been a member of the former Oakdale Homemaker’s in the Saxeville, WI area. She had also been a playground monitor at the Pleasant View School in Pine River, WI for about five years. Funeral services for Marie Hansen will be held on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield with Rev. Chris Navurskis, officiating. Interment will be in the Saxeville Union Cemetery in Saxeville, WI. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi, WI on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, and at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Poy Sippi, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
