Marie J Konkol's Obituary
Mrs. Marie J. Konkol, age 90, of Stevens Point, formerly of Amherst ,Wisconsin passed away, Saturday, December 10, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital. Marie was born in the Town of Torun, Portage County, Wisconsin, on August 15, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Kropidlowski) Buza. On October 3, 1938 she married Walter Konkol at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church-Fancher. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2002. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church Amherst, Wisconsin and was a member of the Altar Society for over 50 years. She was a religious education teacher at the church for over 36 years. She owned and operated Marie's Dress Shop in Amherst for over 11 years where she also did seamstress work for many people. She was member and President of the Amherst Women's Club. Marie is survived by daughter: Sister Beth Konkol, Alameda, CA; Son: Michael (Marla) Konkol, Merrill, WI; Grandchildren: Brien (Lisa) Konkol, Elk River, MN; Michele Konkol, Merrill; Julie (Michael) Stober, St. Michael, MN; Mary Konkol, Chicago; David Konkol, Merrill; Greatgrandchild: Benjamin Konkol; Sisters: Theresa (Joe) Montgomery, Stevens Point; Leona Staudt, Sussex, WI; Helen Patoka, Sussex; Bernice Bemowski, Stevens Point; Brother: Florian (Loraine) Buza, Sussex; Marie is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son: LeRoy and by one sister: Eleanor Mitcheltree. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Amherst, at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, December 13 with Father Robert Pedretti officiating. Interment will be in the St. James Catholic Cemetery Amherst. Visitation will be held Tuesday 9:30-11 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the St. James Catholic Church Building Fund.
