Marjorie Cook's Obituary
Marjorie H. Cook, age 95, of Wild Rose, WI, passed away Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 at Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 8, 1913, the daughter of William and Rose (Floring) Clauss. For her sophmore year of high school, Marge attended Kemper Hall in Kenosha and graduated from Main Township High School near Des Plaines, IL. On February 9, 1935, Marge married Howard Cook in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1998. In 1951, they moved to a farm in Wild Rose where they lived until 1995. Marge was a full time mother and farm wife. For several years she served as organist at the Wild Rose Presbyterian Church and member of the choir. Marge was a member of the Mount Morris Homemakers group, card clubs, and volunteered at school, church, and in the community. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by Children: James (Helen) Cook, Wild Rose, WI; Peggy (Gleno) Straw, Wild Rose, WI; William Cook, Kent, WA; Rosemary (Dan) Bartel, Sun Praire, WI; Barbara (Dan) Toftum, Amherst, WI; Thirteen Grandchildren; Sixteen Great Grandchildren. Marge is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; and a brother, Robert. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Wild Rose Presbyterian Church in Wild Rose, with Pastor Alyson Janke officiating. A private interment of cremains will be held at a later date. A memorial visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service. A memorial has been established. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose assisted the family with arrangements.
